Winter

December
- Cover tender plants on cold nights
- Prune palms and treat the cuts
- Pick oranges and mandarins
January
- Protect tender plants from frost
- Prune persimmons and deciduous trees
- Plant bare-root trees
February
- Prune roses and olive trees
- Feed with manure or compost
- Prepare the vegetable patch soil

Spring

March
- Prune orange and mandarin trees
- Reseed bare patches in the lawn
- Check and adjust the drip system
April
- Plant out tomatoes and peppers
- Sow or turf with Bermuda grass
- Watch for aphids on new shoots
May
- Set watering for early morning
- Mulch beds 5-8 cm deep
- Stake and water the vegetables

Summer

June
- Water early and deeply
- Raise the cutting height
- Pick vegetables every day
July
- Water at dawn
- Shade young plants
- Don't prune palms
August
- Keep watering at dawn

Autumn
